 WHO WE ARE

Welcome to the American Agricultural Editors Association Web page.

We hope you enjoy browsing the site as you learn more about the programs and goals of our organization. As relative newcomers to the electronic information arena, we are continually working to fine-tune and upgrade the presentation and content found here. We welcome your comments and suggestions for improvement.

If you are a member of AAEA, please explore the site for an update on association news and activities. If you are not yet a member, consider this your personal invitation.

As a service organization, our mission is to provide opportunities for professional improvement and networking to agricultural editors, writers and photojournalists. From the annual Agricultural Media Summit, to regional workshops, to our monthly newsletter, The ByLine, we bring industry leaders the tools to hone their skills. Awards programs recognize excellence in writing and photography and provide constructive feedback for improvement.

Our membership is diverse and active. Seasoned editors interact with ag journalism students, providing encouragement and unique networking advantages not found elsewhere. Photographers share their expertise and set the standard for quality images in agricultural publications. Writers of all ages and experience level find a common ground in AAEA. Affiliate members, representing ag-related businesses, public relations companies and commodity organizations are partners in our quest to bring all parties together as we face an ever-changing future.

"Hands-on" is a term that accurately describes how AAEA works. Along with the outstanding management team at Gardner & Gardner Communications, members take an active role in developing programs, writing articles for The ByLine, and setting direction for the association.

Committees represent all categories of members and frequent communication allows for positive interaction. We try to involve as many members as possible to increase diversity, insight and vitality.

We've only touched the surface of what AAEA is all about, but we hope we've piqued your interest. To join, check out the membership application or contact us directly. We look forward to including you as a member of our organization.
