American Agricultural Editors' Association (AAEA) Summer Intern Program Entry Deadline: Feb. 18, 2009 AAEA is now accepting applications from students for the Summer Intern Program for 2009. One college student in agricultural communications with interest in farm reporting will have the great experience of working with the staff of Farms.com in Ames, Iowa. The 2009 AAEA Summer Intern Program details: * Will be hosted by Farms.com in Ames, Iowa, and JoAnn Alumbaugh will be the intern's supervisor. * Writing commentaries for the Farms.com website * Researching, interviewing and writing articles for our own magazine and for our custom magazine projects * Working on some marketing projects for PigCHAMP, Farms.com media and Professional Services * Attending industry events, like World Pork Expo and the Ag Media Summit * Farms.com provides innovative products and services to customers in the global agriculture and food industries. For over 10 years, we have grown in these sectors by delivering results that help our customers succeed. The internship lasts approximately 10 weeks each summer. The intern earns a stipend is $4,500 for 10 weeks, and another $1,000 to cover costs of attending the AMS thanks to the AAEA Professional Improvement Foundation for providing a grant and Smithfield Foods for helping sponsor the program. The intern is responsible for travel to and from the magazine's location and for living expenses during the internship. One of the great bonuses of the AAEA internship is that it includes travel expenses, hotel accommodations and registration fees to attend the Agricultural Media Summit.
