I've talked a lot about TOPGUARD, our soybean rust fungicide that has recently received Section 18 emergency exemptions in selected states*. But Cheminova is also introducing several other new products as well. One that we are especially excited about is ZORO® Miticide/Insecticide, which has now received registration for use on cotton and other crops including vegetables, citrus and almonds.

The reason ZORO is important to farmers is that it contains abamectin, a fermentation product of the naturally occurring soil bacterium, Streptomyces avermitilis. This makes ZORO an excellent and economical alternative to Zephyr® in cotton, and to Agri-Mek® in almonds, citrus, vegetables and many other crops. And that means farmers can save money without sacrificing performance.

ZORO has a unique mode of action that makes it effective against insects that may be resistant to organophosphates or pyrethroids. So this product is an ideal choice for resistance management programs.

ZORO also provides an extended period of control compared to most other products and remains effective for up to 30 days. It is quickly absorbed into the plant tissue, and once dry, performance is not reduced by rain or irrigation. When the spray has dried, any beneficials on the leaf surface do not come into contact with the chemical, so ZORO also works superbly with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.

Again, thanks for all you do to help and support American agriculture.
